Health Savings Account (HSA)
HSA Overview & Investment
- You must be enrolled in a high-deductible health plan (HDHP) in order to enroll.
- Unspent funds roll over every year and the account remains yours even when you switch employers.
- The 2027 annual contribution limit is $4,500 for Single Coverage and $9,000 for Family Coverage.
- Individuals 55 years of age or older are eligible to make an annual catch-up contribution of an additional $1,000.
- Invest for Retirement: Build your retirement nest egg by setting an investment threshold to mirror your deductible amount and investing any contributions above it.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
Full Use Medical FSA
- Set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible medical, dental, and vision expenses.
- All of your FSA dollars are available on the very first day of the plan year.
- You cannot enroll if you or your spouse are actively enrolled and contributing to a Health Savings Account (HSA).
- The School District of Grafton plan features a $550 FSA carryover limit.
Limited FSA
- Allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars for qualified dental, vision, and preventative care expenses.
- Pairs well with a Health Savings Account (HSA).
- All of your FSA funds are available to spend right away on day one.
Dependent Care FSA
- Designed for those who have dependents age 12 or younger, or who care for a dependent physically or mentally incapable of caring for themselves.
- Eligible expenses include home daycare, child daycare centers, preschool, and summer day camp.
